# Aston Villa: Fans react to Ollie Watkins rumours

**Arsenal are reportedly interested in Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, according to [The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/16323090/arsenal-calvert-lewin-watkins-exclusive-lacazette-transfer/).**

And, as to be expected, a number of Villa fans have been reacting to the rumours on social media.

Watkins [admitted](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/arsenal-fc-news-ollie-watkins-grandad-b58739.html) himself last year that he is an Arsenal fan after starring in a victory at the Emirates Stadium.

The 24-year-old netted his [first goal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ollie-watkins/leistungsdaten/spieler/324358) of the season in a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday, and according to [The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/16323090/arsenal-calvert-lewin-watkins-exclusive-lacazette-transfer/), is on a list of targets to possibly replace Alexandre Lacazette.

Watkins and Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin have been touted as possible options, with Lacazette’s [contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexandre-lacazette/profil/spieler/93720) up at the end of the season.

Arsenal’s technical director Edu is on the search for a young Premier League goalscorer for the club’s long-term plan, with Watkins and Everton’s number nine both fitting the bill.
