# Aston Villa: Fans react to Tyrone Mings’ England selection

**Aston Villa [confirmed](https://twitter.com/AVFCOfficial/status/1456262569446887429) on Thursday afternoon that captain Tyrone Mings has been included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming international break.**

And, as to be expected, a number of Villa supporters have been giving their thoughts to the news on social media.

Mings, who has played [15](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tyrone-mings/nationalmannschaft/spieler/253677/verein_id/3299) times for his country, will be Villa’s only representative, with Ollie Watkins [left out](https://www.radioexe.co.uk/news-and-features/local-news/ollie-watkins-left-out-of-england-squad/) for Marcus Rashford.

The 28-year-old Mings was [dropped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tyrone-mings/leistungsdaten/spieler/253677) by Dean Smith in last weekend’s defeat to West Ham but came back into the [starting line up](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tyrone-mings/leistungsdaten/spieler/253677) on Friday evening against Southampton.

He couldn’t prevent Villa from suffering a [fifth](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/aston-villa/scores-fixtures/2021-11?filter=results) straight loss prior to the international break, though, with the defender’s attention now on World Cup [qualifiers](https://www.skysports.com/football/teams/england/fixtures) with Albania and San Marino.
