# Aston Villa: Fans react to Yves Bissouma update

**Aston Villa may have to pay up to £40m for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma.**

That’s according to [Sam Wallace of The Telegraph](https://twitter.com/TeleFootball/status/1481358036258201605), and his update has had a number of Villa fans talking on social media.

Villa have already bolstered their attacking midfield ranks by bringing in [Philippe Coutinho](https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2022/january/07/villa-agree-coutinho-/) on loan from Barcelona.

Steven Gerrard has also landed [Lucas Digne](https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2022/january/13/villa-announce-lucas-digne-signing/) from Everton, with the focus now seemingly on a [defensive midfielder and a back-up](https://twitter.com/greggevans40/status/1479722514620243970) goalkeeper to Emiliano Martinez.

Bissouma is thought to be a target for Villa and could cost up to [£40m](https://twitter.com/TeleFootball/status/1481358036258201605), which would be a [club-record](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aston-villa/transferrekorde/verein/405) deal. [Wallace of The Telegraph](https://twitter.com/SamWallaceTel/status/1481359652197650434) has labelled a possible move as a ‘difficult and potentially expensive deal’, however, it is ‘not impossible’.
