Aston Villa: Fans fume at Bertrand Traore after his performance against Manchester City - Aston Villa News

Many Aston Villa fans were fuming after watching the performance of Bertrand Traore in the defeat to Manchester City.

Dean Smith’s side looked to be competing very well against Pep Guardiola’s men, but sadly, they couldn’t hold out for a draw as they conceded two goals in the last eleven minutes.

Traore picked up a 6.8 rating as he put in quite an average performance. He only managed to touch the ball 23 times, made no key passes and lost four ground duels and four aerial duels (SofaScore). He also lost possession ten times.

The fixture was Villa’s first in the Premier League in 19 days, and it was always going to be hard to return against Man City, especially when they were in such good form.

It is understandable to see fans show their frustrations at Traore. In his 14 Premier League games this season, the attacker has scored three and assisted two (Transfermarkt), and he will need to improve on this if he wants to keep his place in the starting eleven.

Here is what Villa fans said about Traore’s performance either during or after the game:

“Traore got to come off. He looks exhausted.”
