Aston Villa have a big game coming up on Wednesday against fellow surprise package West Ham, and Dean Smith has provided a worrying injury update on defender Kortney Hause ahead of the match.
The latest on Hause
Hause has been unavailable for selection for the last four matches, and he has now had a scan which has revealed the severity of the injury.
From Smith’s press conference ahead of the clash with the Hammers, Journalist Ashley Preece reported that the defender is out for four-six weeks, relaying comments from Smith: “It’s a blow because he came in the team and was excellent.”
This is definitely a blow for Villa
Hause has been excellent when called upon this season – Villa are yet to lose a Premier League match in which he starts this term (Transfermarkt). They have only conceded once in the four games he played, and the centre-back also scored a goal too. In those matches, he managed 1.3 interceptions and a whopping 6.5 clearances a game (WhoScored).
Smith now has a worrying lack of depth in the centre-back position, and if Tyrone Mings or Ezri Konsa get injured themselves, it will be a big worry for the manager.
