Aston Villa: Fans react as Gregg Evans discusses injuries at the club

Aston Villa did not get the result they wanted last weekend with a defeat at Brighton. It wasn’t the only bad news either, as Keinan Davis missed the game through injury and Ross Barkley limped off in the first five minutes.
Journalist for The Athletic, Gregg Evans, has been discussing these injuries, asking the question: ‘What do Villa do without him (Barkley)?’
The Chelsea loanee has had a great start for the club – in five Premier League appearances he has managed two goals and one assist. Villa have definitely lost a huge threat if his problem is serious, as he has averaged 3.4 shots, three key passes and 2.2 successful dribbles per game (WhoScored).
Therefore the question raised by Evans is an important one for Dean Smith to work out. The Englishman being out for most of the Brighton game highlighted the issues the club have without him in the side, as they failed to find a path through the Seagulls’ low block.
Keinan Davis will also be a miss. With fellow striker Wesley also injured, it leaves Villa with only one striker fully fit in Ollie Watkins.
Here is how Villa fans reacted to the tweet:
Injuries are stacking up for #AVFC
Keinan Davis missed the weekend game with an ankle injury (hopefully only minor)
Ross Barkley is also now facing a spell on the sidelines (still waiting to hear how long).

This was always going to happen. A lot of games in short spaces of time with internationals added on top of that.
I know that there are high hopes for Villa this season but really, we just need to stay up and then build a better squad around our first eleven.

We all knew strength in depth would be an issue if injuries came up, it’s just annoying when it plays out 🤣

Play fringe players such as Hourihane, Traore and Ramsey.
I always wondered why we registered Wesley but not Lansbury. Seems especially foolish now.

This is why we should of bought other forward Watkins on the wing Jack in the middle and ? Up top
