Aston Villa: Fans react as John McGinn asks for quality signings

Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn has called on the club to add some ‘quality‘ signings this summer after he helped his side secure Premier League football next season.
After successfully gaining promotion to England’s top flight via the Championship play-off final last season, it did look likely that Villa would drop back down to the second tier after sitting in the bottom three places for the majority of the time since the restart.
However, a superb win over Arsenal and a final day draw with West Ham United saw them climb to safety.
The Midlands based outfit will now prepare for next season with Dean Smith expected to make several changes to his current squad, a squad that was largely assembled by sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch, who has now been sacked.
McGinn who played a large part in helping Villa with three goals and three assists, has now called on the club to add ‘quality‘ signings this summer.
Reacting to the Scottish international’s comments via Twitter account @villareport, fans seemed to agree with the 25-year-old, perhaps unsurprising given they finished in a lowly 17th in the season just gone. Some even said that he should be made captain if Jack Grealish leaves, with the Englishman linked with a move away.
Here is what some had to say…
We need more options from the bench not just stright swaps like we had this year.

Improve the starting 11, and push some of the current starting 11 to the bench.
