Plenty of Aston Villa fans have been waxing lyrical over teenage forward Louie Barry on social media.

Barry, who famously scored against Liverpool in the FA Cup earlier this season, scored a hat-trick at Villa Park as the club beat Burton Albion 9-0 in the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday.

Sean Verity's side are into the quarter-finals of the competition following the emphatic win, where they will take on Newcastle United.

The 17-year-old, who is under contract with the club until 2023, sealed his hat-trick with a second-half free-kick.

Carney Chukwuemeka, Aaron Ramsey, Brad Young and Seb Revan were also on the scoresheet in an impressive display by the club’s young stars on home soil.

Villa fans react

Villa shared a picture of Barry and the match ball following the win, which, as to be expected, received plenty of interaction from the club’s followers.

This is what some had to say in reply regarding the youngster, with one fan page from Brazil ‘very happy’.
