Aston Villa: Fans react to Gregg Evans and his thoughts following Southampton loss

Aston Villa have lost their last two Premier League games. However, their start to the season has been somewhat positive overall as they already have 12 points from only six matches.
Gregg Evans of The Athletic has given some of his thoughts following this start and a lot of the Villa fan base have been reacting to these comments.
He tweeted out his article and said: ‘#AVFC start to the season has been good. With the pressure off, the team can continue to express themselves, but there needs to be a realignment after the last two games.’
These comments have received quite a mixed reaction. Some fans seem to be as confident as the journalist, whereas some still clearly have last season on their mind when they only found out that they would be staying in the division on the final day.
Hopefully the journalist will be proven right but with Arsenal up next, Villa are looking at the possibility of being on a three-game losing streak.

It’s as we thought really, we lack those game changing options. If the first 11 is off it there’s not really anyone to call on. That said I’d have taken this start. It just feels like we always follow up a loss with a loss.

Don’t understand why the pressure should be off. We had a great start yes. But that does not get us more points. The job is far from done. Besides – we seem to play better under pressure.

While Leeds and Southampton are good sides they’ll both finish about mid table. People saying there’s nothing to worry about losing to these but there around the level we want to be at. This is the standard and we need to improve, be hard to beat again.

No concerns. Leeds we were beaten by the better team fair and square. Yesterday we conceded some top quality goals, and had our chances to take something from the game

It has been a good start but in terms of points I reckon we’re probably tracking about 2 points about where you’d expect to be, if you assume we’ll end up around 13th or so

That can change very quickly especially when you have arsenal away next
