Aston Villa manager Dean Smith provided a positive injury update ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Chelsea in his pre-match press conference.

His comments were relayed by the club’s official Twitter page, which led to a number of Villa fans going wild at the update.

Smith admitted that Ollie Watkins should be back in and around the squad after making his first appearance of the campaign prior to the international break.

Leon Bailey missed the fixtures with Newcastle and Brentford with a hamstring problem, but he is back to full fitness.

Bertrand Traore has also been sidelined with a hamstring injury after featuring in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Liverpool but is now back in training.

Smith also shared positive updates on midfielders John McGinn and Jacob Ramsey.
