Plenty of Aston Villa fans have been giving their thoughts on social media to an update on defender Ezri Konsa and goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

According to The Telegraph’s John Percy, Villa are set to offer both players new contracts this month.

Konsa, who has missed just two league games this season, is on just £8,000-a-week at Villa Park – the joint-lowest wage out of 22 players listed by Spotrac.

The club has since confirmed the defender's extension through to 2026.

Meanwhile, Heaton, on £42,000-a-week, has been on the bench since Boxing Day after returning from injury.

The 34-year-old has been second-choice behind Emiliano Martinez in recent months, with the Argentine keeping 14 clean sheets this season.

Both Konsa and Heaton’s current deals run until 2023, but it seems as if the club will offer the pair improved terms over the coming weeks.
