Michael Oliver will be the man in the middle for Aston Villa’s meeting with Wolves on Saturday.

And, as to be expected, a number of Villa supporters have been giving their thoughts to the news on social media.

The 36-year-old will be assisted by Stuart Burt and Simon Bennett, with Mike Dean as fourth official and Jarred Gillett in charge of VAR. [Premier League]

Oliver, who controversially ruled out a late Villa penalty against Brighton last season, has taken charge of 28 Villa games, with the record not looking pretty for Dean Smith’s side. Villa have won just seven of those games and have lost 14 with Oliver in charge.

The Englishman was on VAR duty in Villa’s last Premier League game against Spurs and will now take centre stage as Villa look to get back to winning ways against Wolves.
