Aston Villa striker Wesley suffered a horrible injury last season, and he is now on the road to recovery. The club posted a video of his progress and a lot of fans are buzzing to see him return in the near future.
The cruciate ligament rupture that he suffered has seen the Brazilian miss 41 games (366 days) and counting (Transfermarkt). One fan replied to the tweet, calling the forward a ‘beast’ so the fans are clearly hoping that he returns soon.
The 23-year-old was looking to adapt to English football following his arrival in the summer of 2019. He had featured 22 times, picking up one assist and six goals. One of these goals came in the Burnley match where he suffered his injury.
It is good to see that a year after his injury, he is able to be doing some recovery involving weights with his legs, and he will be hoping that he can feature at some point in the New Year, but some fans seemingly doubt that he’ll be ready by then.
Here is how Villa fans reacted to the video:
Great to see, all the days of self doubt, the private tears shed, wondering if you can ever make it back & the endless days of hard work will see you putting the famous Claret & Blue in better shape than ever!! UTV!

Not putting a lot of force into the ground, going to be a while before he is back.

Did he limp at the start because of his injury, or because he has one leg shorter than the other?
I can’t wait to have the big man back! 💪🏾
