Aston Villa: Fans slam Ollie Watkins versus Manchester United

Aston Villa: Fans slam Ollie Watkins versus Manchester United - Aston Villa News

Some Aston Villa fans have been left slamming the display of Ollie Watkins in their 2-1 loss on Friday night in the Premier League.

The 25 year-old failed to take any of his chances once again, which has meant that he has now gone eight games in the top flight without a goal (Transfermarkt), leaving some AVFC supporters growing increasingly impatient with him.

Should Aston Villa drop Watkins?

Aside from the fact that he failed to find the back of the net again for Villa, the striker also lost out on no fewer than 12 of his duels in the game, and also managed to record fewer touches of the ball than his own goalkeeper, Emi Martinez (Sofascore).

He lost possession of the ball 10 times in the match, earning him a quite measly 6.5 overall rating on Sofascore, the lowest out of any of his teammates to have set foot on the field.

“We were good against a very good united team. Some of our play was brilliant. In the end the quality showed. Love the way we play. Too many errors… Watkins seems to be a problem… he’s just not enough in the game. #AVFC”
