Aston Villa: Fans slate Mings for error against Manchester City

Aston Villa fans were absolutely fuming with defender Tyrone Mings following his performance in the loss to Manchester City.
The defender was slated after the opening goal was partly due to an error from the England international – one fan called him ‘shambolic’.
This error has of course left the football world discussing the offside rule. It was a very close-contested game against Pep Guardiola’s side, and despite his frustration at the goal being allowed, Mings himself has come out and tweeted that he should have cleared the ball instead of trying to control it in the build up to City scoring.
The centre-back lost possession six times and also failed to win any of his ground duels and only one of his aerial duels in the match (SofaScore). This is not the first time that the centre-back has been slated for his errors this season.
The Villa fan base were frustrated with him following his role in the build up to the goal they conceded against Manchester United and also were fuming when he got needlessly sent off against Crystal Palace.
Here is what Villa fans said following the performance of Tyrone Mings:
“If Mings leaves it = offside If the ball clears Mings = offside If Mings plays the ball = attacker back in play If Mings clears it = attacker back in play Poor judgment, nothing more. #avfc“

“Defensively we were brilliant, offensively we were wasteful. Cash , Targett, Konsa lively , Mings shambolic, Traore wasteful , Grealish not his best game , McGinn average , Martinez outstanding , Watkins quiet, Barkley decent , Luiz brilliant #AVFC“

“Decent performance from Villa after everything that’s happened in the last two weeks but so disappointing to lose like that. First of all Mings should’ve cleared but how that goal has been given is unforgivable #avfc“

“Mings is a good defender but always has a mistake in him. Depth & competition needed at CB.”

“Didn’t expect anything from tonight but the more the game goes on,a point was looking good then Mings wants to play football 20 yards from goal and gets caught, whether it’s offside or not, he should of hoofed the ball rey’t hard up field to relieve the pressure. #AVFC“

In other news, many Villa fans have been reacting to an update from Fabrizio Romano concerning Morgan Sanson.
