Former Aston Villa captain Gabby Agbonlahor has said that the current squad are enjoying life under new manager Unai Emery.

The Lowdown: Life under Emery

Emery has begun life in charge at Villa Park with back-to-back Premier League wins over Manchester United and Brighton, lifting the club away from the relegation zone.

The Spaniard has reportedly already brought a specific attention-to-detail approach to the club, with limited days off and plenty of detailed video sessions for the Villa playing squad.

The Latest: Agbonlahor’s comments

Agbonlahor, who contributes to talkSPORT, was talking to Football Insider regarding Emery's start to life in the Midlands. He said he’s heard that the players are enjoying life under Emery and have brought into his ideas.

“Unai Emery will have his way of management if that’s long days, limited free time and detailed video sessions at the training ground and he thinks that will get Aston Villa into Europe, the players will be on board.

“It is sustainable and it does have longevity if the players are fully backing the manager and from reports from what I’ve heard, they are. They are enjoying it.

“If they can see that results are changing and they have a chance of sneaking into Europe they will get on board, easily.”

The Verdict: Exciting times

With everyone at Villa seemingly on the same page, the only way the club should be looking is up. It appears to be an exciting time in the Midlands, and it could get better with the January transfer window just around the corner.

NSWE are set to hand Emery a ‘huge’ budget, and if he secures his top targets in the New Year, Villa could well be pushing for a top-half Premier League finish with everyone fully on board with the manager at this moment in time.
