Marseille boss Andre Villas-Boas is reportedly angry at the fact that Morgan Sanson’s potential move to Aston Villa was leaked to the press by someone at his club.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has recently stated that paperwork has been signed in the deal which will take Sanson to Villa and only the medical is now pending. Now though, it has been reported that Villas-Boas is angry at the fact that news about the move was leaked.
Villas-Boas ‘annoyed’ about mole at the club
While the move to Villa seems to be happening for Sanson, L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) have recently reported that Villas-Boas isn’t happy with a mole in the Marseille dressing room. He believes that French outlet RMC were informed about the move well before he got to know of Villa’s capture of the midfielder. The Portuguese wanted Sanson in his squad for Marseille’s game at the weekend, but since the move seemed to be going through, the Frenchman didn’t want to risk an injury ahead of a transfer.
Are you bothered about Villa Boas' opinion?
It is clear that Villas-Boas isn’t happy with how the transfer took place, with Sanson now heading to Villa Park for a fee of £14 million.
Recently, Villas-Boas commented on Sanson’s move away from Marseille, saying that he wasn’t in the right mind to play for his team. Sanson said that it was going to be ‘hard’ and ‘difficult’ for him to play at the weekend.
The Frenchman has previously been compared to Jack Wilshere for his abilities, and in the current campaign, he has scored two goals while picking up three assists for Marseille in 12 league appearances.
Villa shouldn’t be bothered
Villa have used only 20 players in the league this season and that is the lowest in the current Premier League campaign for any club. So Villa clearly need depth in the team and Sanson would add both experience at the highest level and depth. They shouldn’t be concerned about what’s happening at Marseille, especially after Villas-Boas’ bizarre dig last week.
