What Nakamba had to say
“We have to continue to give our best in each and every game. We have to try to keep getting better and better.
“We’re looking forward to the next game, the derby. We have to go back to the drawing board as a group and focus on the next match.”
Dean Smith should be happy with the player
Speaking to Football Insider recently, Alan Hutton praised the £7.2m-rated player as he said: “I think Nakamba’s done well. Let’s not kid ourselves, it’s been a difficult season, it was always going to be a difficult season. I think Nakamba can come out after this season thinking he’s played his part. I think he is probably underrated as well.”
The midfielder has played four times in England’s top flight this season (Transfermarkt) but the 0-0 draw against Burnley was his first start. Reports in the past have suggested that Turkish side Galatasaray are weighing up whether to make a loan move for the player in the transfer window, due to him not getting a lot of game time.
However, his six-word message to Dean Smith that “I’m always ready for the team” suggests that he is happy and he is willing to fight for a spot at the club. This is something Smith should be very happy about, as squad depth is key and players like Nakamba who will still give 100% when not featuring consistently will help the side a lot during a season where fixtures are a lot more congested.
