Aston Villa manager Dean Smith will be hoping his side can continue what has been an impressive start to the Premier League season as they travel to west London to take on Fulham this evening.
A 1-0 win over Sheffield United has already handed the Midlands outfit an important three points as they seek to improve on last season’s 17th-placed finish.
The midweek win over Bristol City in the Carabao Cup saw Smith make a whole host of changes and hand Bertrand Traore his debut after arriving from Lyon. Traore found the back of the net at Ashton Gate and it is expected that he will now start at Craven Cottage, having been able to recuperate and take part in further training.
His inclusion could see Egyptian winger Trezeguet drop down to the substitutes’ bench, with Jack Grealish and in-form Ollie Watkins occupying the other two places in an attacking front three.
Behind that trio, Conor Hourihane, John McGinn and Douglas Luiz are likely to again form the midfield trio, having all started together in the win against Chris Wilder’s side last weekend.
Villa’s back four looked good against the Blades and Matty Cash, Matt Targett, Ezri Konsa and Tyrone Mings can all expect to take to the field from the referee’s first whistle, having been the back four that kept a clean sheet a week ago.
With Tom Heaton still injured, summer arrival Emiliano Martinez will continue in goal.
