Aston Villa will meet Liverpool on Sunday as they look to beat the Premier League champions and keep their top-flight hopes alive.
Dean Smith and Jurgen Klopp have had very contrasting seasons and whilst the latter’s has ended with much success in winning the league title, Smith still has plenty of work to do.
Villa sit in the bottom three of the Premier League table as things stand and they will head to Anfield to face an unknown Liverpool side, who will be fresh off the back of celebrating the title win last week.
For Villa, Smith must decide who he thinks will be able to do a potential job on Merseyside. Here at the Transfer Tavern, we have predicted how they will line-up with just two changes expected.
The first name on the team sheet is expected to be Orjan Nyland, who continues to play in between the sticks.
Matt Targett is one player who will not feature through injury, as he faces up to three weeks on the sidelines (Mirror), meaning Neil Taylor is expected to come in as a replacement.
Tyrone Mings, Kortney Hause and Ezri Konsa are expected to continue in defence and the idea of two up front should mean a narrow diamond in midfield, with Douglas Luiz playing the holding role.
Conor Hourihane will be on one side, whilst John McGinn should come back in to replace £10.8m man and fellow left-footer Marvelous Nakamba who failed to impress against Wolves. Indeed he didn’t manage any key passes, shots or successful dribbles in the Midlands derby (SofaScore).
That will then allow Jack Grealish to operate in a free role, behind Mbwana Samatta and Keinan Davis.
