Aston Villa face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday in what will be another must-win game for Dean Smith’s side.
The Claret and Blue outfit are involved in a relegation battle with the likes of Bournemouth and West Ham United as they sit 19th in the Premier League table.
Having drawn against Newcastle in mid-week, attention will now turn to Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off against arguably one of the most in-form sides in the English top-flight.
Whilst the likes of Frederic Guilbert, Danny Drinkwater and Henri Lansbury have all returned to full fitness ahead of the tie (Express & Star), it is unlikely to turn Smith’s hand when it comes to team selection and Villa fans should not expect wholesome changes.
Here at the Transfer Tavern we have predicted how the Villans will line-up, with just two changes from their visit to St. James’ Park.
Ahmed Elmohamady had a good impact from the bench against Newcastle, netting the equaliser, but he could used simply as an impact role again. Orjan Nyland is expected to keep his place in goal whilst the four defenders in front of him are unlikely to be changed.
Conor Hourihane has been performing well since the Premier League restart, providing an assist last time out so he could come in to form a midfield three alongside John McGinn and Douglas Luiz, replacing Trezeguet.
Jack Grealish will be handed his usual free role, although his form has been questionable since the restart, whilst Keinan Davis could come into the 11 and partner Mbwana Samatta in a front two, replacing Anwar El Ghazi.
