Aston Villa are reportedly lining up a move for Villarreal forward Yeremy Pino.
The Lowdown: Pino profiled
Pino, who actually shares the same agent as Ezri Konsa, is primarily a right-winger who can play anywhere across the front three. The 20-year-old has made 91 senior appearances for Villarreal, all of which have come under new Villa boss Unai Emery.
Labelled ‘incredible’ by talent scout Jacek Kulig and a ‘special’ player by Fabrizio Romano, Pino is valued at a career-high £36m by Transfermarkt, and it looks as if a move to the Midlands could be on the cards.
The Latest: Villa interest
They claimed that Villa are ‘preparing an offer’ for Pino, who could be the biggest sale in the history of Villarreal with his valuation at around €70m (£60.7m) from those inside the Spanish club.
The Verdict: Record move?
NSWE look set to back Emery in the New Year when it comes to investing in the squad, and a move for Pino could be a costly one.
Should Villarreal stick to their €70m valuation, Villa would need to smash their club record to bring Pino to the Premier League, which currently stands at £34.56m when they signed Emiliano Buendia.
Emery knows all about the Spain international, though, so a winter window swoop could be a shrewd one in both the short and long term.
