Many Aston Villa fans have been discussing Ross Barkley’s performance in the Birmingham-based club’s latest Premier League clash versus West Ham United.
Around 30 minutes into the game, the midfielder scuffed a shot wide of the goal and it seems like that failed attempt has just about summed up his game in the eyes of some Villa fans.
So, what have these Aston Villa fans been saying about Barkley?
Per BirminghamLive, the 27-year-old was the last Villa player to come out of the tunnel for the match and it seems from these tweets that plenty of Villa supporters wish he never came out onto the pitch at all, as he’s been getting some criticism for his latest top-flight display, with some members of the Villans faithful sharing that they think Barkley needs to speed his game up.
“Barkley slowing it down all the time”
“As I was saying, Luiz don’t know what day it is, McGinn & Barkley anonymous again so far #AVFC”
“I can’t lie, Barkley has been annoying me since he came back into the side”
“Barkley especially. Aside from one exquisite touch, he doesnt look like he knows where is on the pitch.”
“Get Barkley off”
“People got to realise Barkley not right for us, with McGinn and Luiz he doesn’t fit, not enough pace and control on the ball, sluggish these days.”
“El Ghazi and Barkley need to come off. They’ve been awful #AVFC”
