Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has told The Transfer Tavern that he doesn’t expect Curtis Jones to join Aston Villa on deadline day.
Villa, who have picked up four points from their opening three Premier League games, have been one of the big spenders in the window – bringing in Emiliano Buendia, Leon Bailey, and Danny Ings for more than £95m.
Should Aston Villa start Targett?
However, Dean Smith’s side also tested the waters with both Southampton and Arsenal for the services of James Ward-Prowse and Emile Smith-Rowe, although those two have remained at their respective clubs.
But after missing out on those two, according to The Sun, the Midlands outfit were willing to offer Liverpool £15m for Jones, who came through the Reds’ academy.
Bridge, however, told The Transfer Tavern that Smith is happy with his squad:
“I don’t think that one’s a goer. I think Villa will probably keep it as it is.”
