Aston Villa will ‘try for many players’ in upcoming transfer windows, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Lowdown: £400m+ spent

NSWE have backed Dean Smith and Steven Gerrard following Villa’s promotion to the Premier League in 2019. The club have spent more than £400m during that time and look set to hand new manager Unai Emery a ‘huge’ winter budget.

The 51-year-old guided Villa to back-to-back Premier League wins prior to the international break, and it seems as if attention will soon turn to potential incomings in the Midlands.

The Latest: Romano’s comments

Romano previously said that Emery has been promised investment in the playing squad in 2023 by NSWE.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, the transfer expert has now claimed that Villa will try for ‘many players’, both in the January and summer windows.

Romano stated: “So, Aston Villa will try for many, many players in the summer and in January. But as of now, there’s still nothing advanced with Villarreal.

“And I think Villarreal will try to protect the players after they lost the manager. They don’t want to lose important players in January.”

The Verdict: Exciting

Knowing that Villa will be looking at a number of players in 2023 should excite their supporters, and it’ll be interesting to see where the club’s priorities will lie.

Reports have suggested that a new centre-forward and centre-back are high up on Emery’s wish list, so they could be two areas that NSWE seek to bolster first.

It looks set to be a busy few weeks ahead of domestic action returning prior to the New Year, and Emery may use that time to identify his key transfer targets.
