Birmingham Live's Aston Villa reporter Ashley Preece believes that the club could be quite busy in the transfer market following the Euro 2020 final.

The Lowdown: Already a busy summer

Villa have already been making moves this summer. Emiliano Buendia has joined in a club-record deal, Ashley Young has returned and youngsters Josh Feeney and Ajani Burchall have linked up with Villa’s academy.

Jack Grealish and Tyrone Mings will be hoping to lift England’s first major trophy for 55 years on Sunday night, and Preece thinks that could be the start of a busy week in the Midlands.

The Latest: Preece’s prediction

In a Q&A for Birmingham Live, Preece was asked if he was anticipating a busy week following England’s clash with Italy at Wembley.

In his reply, he claimed that things such as kit announcements, clarity on Grealish’s future and a possible signing or two could materialise over the next seven days.

The full reply is available to view below, ending with the exciting three-word admission of ‘watch this space’:

“Yep, I am! Once the dust has settled on England's historic win (hopefully!!) then things will ramp up at Villa in terms of kit, Grealish clarity and, hopefully, a signing or two. This time next week a lot would have happened... Watch this space."

The Verdict: Exciting times ahead

All focus will soon be on the 2021/22 campaign, and Villa have been showing their long-term ambition with the signing of Buendia and academy additions in Feeney and Burchall.

It looks as if there will be further positive announcements when it comes to finally revealing the new kit and more potential signings soon.

Hopefully, Grealish will also stay at Villa Park, although it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Manchester City place an official bid following their recent interest.
