Aston Villa: Fans react as Bertrand Traore move all-but confirmed by Lyon boss
Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to a claim from Lyon manager Rudi Garcia, who has said Bertrand Traore’s move to Villa Park is almost complete.
Villa boss Dean Smith has already bolstered his attacking options ahead of his side’s opening Premier League game.
Mbwana Samatta, Keinan Davis and Wesley all struggled to find consistent goal-scoring form last term and with Smith looking to improve that, a deal for Ollie Watkins materialised last week.
Watkins netted an impressive 26 goals in the Championship last term for Brentford and Smith could be set to bring in a second striker in the shape of Traore.
Villa are now being linked with the Lyon striker, with a latest report claiming that talks are underway over a £19m transfer.
The ex-Chelsea man has scored 33 goals during his time with Lyon, appearing 126 times for last season’s Champions League semi-finalists and his current manager Garcia has now claimed that a deal is set to go through.

Reacting to the comments made by Garcia, Villa fans reacted to Traore’s seemingly pending arrival with many unsure what to make of it. Indeed whilst he has enjoyed good campaigns in front of goal in the past, he managed just one Ligue 1 strike in the 19/20 term.
