Aston Villa have some promising young stars in their academy but reports are suggesting that the club might struggle to keep hold of one of their emerging talents, Jaden Philogene-Bidace.
The latest on Jaden Philogene-Bidace
According to Football Insider, Bundesliga side RB Leipzig have approached Villa about signing the youngster in January. It might be quite easy to lose him as the 18-year-old has just six months left on his contract at Villa Park. Therefore, he could be set to leave the club for free in the summer of 2021.
Should Villa let him depart?
The left-winger has been in very impressive form for the U23 side this campaign in Premier League 2 (Transfermarkt). He has played eight times, scored four goals and also managed to pick up two assists.
The fact that a Champions League side who battle near the top of the Bundesliga are keen on Philogene-Bidace should give Villa the warning signs that they should not let him go.
It would be best if they looked to tie him down to a new deal, and there is not much risk to doing this. He can continue to produce the quality for the academy until Dean Smith feels he can step up and contribute for the senior squad.
Villa have shown that their academy can produce great talent, with players like Jack Grealish and Jacob Ramsey coming through the youth set-up and Philogene-Bidace could be the new emerging star so they should definitely not look to let him depart.
