Aston Villa midfielder Callum O’Hare looks set to leave the club on a free transfer this summer after recent negotiations stalled without a resolution.
The 22-year-old has been enjoying a superb season on loan at League One leaders Coventry City, becoming a regular starter for Mark Robins’ team. The promising midfielder has made 40 appearances in all competitions for Coventry, netting four goals and gaining seven assists in the process (as per Transfermarkt).
Having risen through the youth ranks at Villa, the former England under-20 international is also set to receive an offer from Coventry to make a permanent move. Having had such a good season for the Sky Blues, O’Hare is likely to receive a number of offers from Championship and League One clubs. However, if Coventry can seal promotion, then it would seem probable that he would remain with Robins’ side.
Football Insider also claimed that Aston Villa would be due a compensation fee for training costs if he were to leave the club this summer. It seems that O’Hare has made his mind up about his future and it’s not hard to see why he has come to such a decision.
Having had such a good season at Coventry, he will now feel that he warrants regular first team football and he might not get that at Aston Villa, given their current options in midfield.
