Aston Villa: Fans react as Werder Bremen boss provides Rashica update

Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to an update provided by Werder Bremen boss Florian Kohfeldt concerning the future of Milot Rashica.
Dean Smith’s side fought off relegation from the Premier League last month with a final day point against West Ham United and the former Brentford boss will be hoping to improve next term.
With the summer transfer window open, Smith could look to improve his squad options, in particular in attack where the likes of Keinan Davis, Mbwana Samatta and Wesley all struggled to find consistency in front of goal.
Brentford striker Ollie Watkins has emerged as a potential arrival, whilst a link to Rashica has been maintained.
The 24-year-old netted eight goals and supplied seven assists in 28 Bundesliga games for Werder Bremen last season and has a current Transfermarkt value of £19.8m.
With interest developing from Villa, Bremen boss Kohfeldt has now given an update on the attacker’s future.
“We are now at a point in our pre-season, where I’ve discussed the situation with everyone at the club. From now on, I’ll prepare for the first matchday as if Milot Rashica will play.
“It’s absolutely a realistic possibility that Milot will play on the first Bundesliga matchday. Maybe he will still be here on October 6.
“We are preparing him so that he can then optimally bring his sporting qualities to help us.”
Reacting to the comments made by Kohfeldt, fans took to Twitter to share their opinion on the continued transfer gossip with the majority suggesting that the club should just move on to other targets. Here is what some had to say…
It’s cause Leipzig aren’t interested in him. Yes, sell ourselves and convince him, but if he’s that unsure we shouldn’t beg. Move on.

Sick of hearing about this guy obviously got no intention of playing for a team not in the champions league so move on Villa & spend your time on signing someone who does want to pull on the shirt.

I don’t believe we’re in for him at all. This all feels like agent talk to get a move to Leipzig or a bumper contract at Bremen.
