Some Aston Villa fans have reacted to a transfer report linking the club with a summer move for Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Villa boss Dean Smith will look to improve a number of areas within his squad this summer after narrowly fighting off the threat of relegation.
Having lost Tom Heaton midway through the campaign, Smith opted to bring in experienced ‘keeper Pepe Reina and the Spaniard proved to be a good addition, helping Villa remain in England’s top flight.
Villa have four current options in between the sticks at Villa Park with the likes of Heaton, Jed Steer, Orjan Nyland and Lovre Kalinic.
Ramsdale who is valued at £11.25m by Transfermarkt, suffered relegation from the Premier League to the Championship with Bournemouth, conceding 62 goals in 37 appearances.
Reacting to the report about Ramsdale, Villa fans offered a response via Twitter account @villareport with many suggesting that they do not want the Cherries man for the reported £18.5m fee. Indeed they argue that they are already covered in that position with their four current options and need to be looking to strengthen elsewhere.
Bit late when Sheffield United have already had a bid accepted?

Interesting. He’s young and English, but he’s also not very good

Am I the only one not impressed with being linked with championship players? One thing that was blatantly obvious in our struggles last season was our lack of premiere league experience.

Not for £18.5m, although he’s had a dodgy season, would have a punt on Butland for £8m to provide some competition for Heaton

Lol we literally need strikers and attackers. We have 17 goalkeepers and first up 18m on a keeper. Peak villa haha

At 18mill no thanks Butland is better keeper and available at 8mill

We have 4 keepers already, can’t see this being a priority and definately not for that much.

Was hoping we’d show interest. Would make an excellent understudy to Heaton.
