Aston Villa midfielder Callum O’Hare is set to be offered a permanent deal by Coventry City, according to Coventry LIVE.
The midfielder is out of contract this summer and with no talks over a new deal to remain at Villa Park, the Sky Blues now appear determined to bring him to the club.
O’Hare, who is 22, has been enjoying a successful loan spell with Mark Robins’ side this term, helping them sit top of the League One table as things stand.
The promising midfield man has made 40 appearances in all competitions for Coventry, netting four goals and gaining seven assists in the process.
Having risen through the youth ranks at Villa, the former England U20 international now looks set to end his time with the club, making just nine first team appearances.
O’Hare is expected to gain plenty of interest from rival clubs in both the Championship and League One, given his consistent performances, but if Coventry are able to seal promotion to England’s second flight, they may find themselves in pole position to sign the player on a free transfer.
It would be in the midfielder’s best interests to seal a move to Coventry, given that he has been such a key player this term, and that he will be restricted to minutes if he was offered a deal at Villa.
Of course, other teams could come in with interest, but it does appear that both O’Hare and Coventry are a great match for each other and may be the best move for his career. He already knows the club, has the fans on side and has proven that he can perform in a team managed by Robins.
