Aston Villa: Fans react to Besiktas’ reported interest in Mbwana Samatta

Many Aston Villa fans have reacted after a report emerged linking Turkish side Besiktas with a move for Mbwana Samatta.
With the new Premier League season fast approaching, Villa manager Dean Smith will undoubtedly be keen to see his attacking players find consistent form. Having lost Brazilian striker Wesley to injury back in January, Smith turned his attention to Tanzanian centre-forward Samatta, who arrived during the winter transfer window.
However, the 27-year-old failed to impress in the Premier League, netting just one goal in his 14 appearances. Samatta did make an impression in the Carabao Cup final, though, netting Villa’s only goal in a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City, but the arrival of Ollie Watkins from Brentford has now cast doubt on the striker’s future at Villa Park.
Amid speculation over his potential exit this summer, a report from Fotospor had linked Besiktas with a potential transfer bid for the Tanzanian. Responding to the reporting interest from Turkey, Samatta recently revealed his desire to remain at Villa Park.
Reacting to the potential exit of Samatta to Besiktas, these Villa fans responded via Twitter account @AVFC_News…
Only there a few months, keep him. He has potential. Villa need forwards. We don’t want a repeat of the fiasco last season when we’d not forwards fit. Still has 4 years on his contract. Nothing to lose by keeping him another 12 months.

Hasn’t been given a chance…….like Davis , keep him for 1 more season and loan out Davis !! Always good to have a backup just in case!!!

I feel sorry for him. Looks completely out of his depth in the Premier League and should, arguably, never have been bought in the first place.
Unlike some others, I’ve seen nothing technically that would suggest it’s a ‘confidence thing’ (‘give him another Season’).#sell

Let him go.

Keep him. Give him the time to settle into a new environment and new league. Can’t have been easy for him with the Covid lockdown. We need the depth in the squad and have nothing to lose by allowing him a full season to try and prove himself.
