# Aston Villa: Fans react to Turkish interest in Trezeguet

**Plenty of Aston Villa fans have reacted to a report of interest from Fenerbahce for winger Trezeguet.**

According to a report in Turkish newspaper [Takvim](https://www.takvim.com.tr/) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/club-hold-transfer-talks-aston-villa-player-summer-move/)), the Super Lig side are looking at matching his wages at Villa to agree a loan deal which would include a option-to-buy clause. It is also suggested that the player’s agent has told Fenerbahce that his client will leave the Villans if they are relegated.

The Egyptian international [arrived](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49058830) at Villa Park last summer after spending time in Turkey with Kasimpasa.

Making [24 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trezeguet/leistungsdaten/spieler/234189/saison/2019/plus/1#gesamt) this term for Dean Smith’s side, Trezeguet’s impact has been few and far between, contributing with [three goals and two assists.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trezeguet/leistungsdaten/spieler/234189/saison/2019/plus/1#gesamt)

With Villa’s Premier League status in doubt, sitting [19th in the league](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/tabelle/wettbewerb/GB1/saison_id/2019) as things stand, changes could be made this coming summer transfer window and the winger’s future is now growing uncertain.

Despite being at Villa Park for less than a year, the 25-year-old has previously been [linked with a return to Turkey with Galatasaray.](https://www.fanatik.com.tr/galatasaraya-mbaye-diagneden-kotu-haber-6-milyon-euro-bile-veren-yok-2083753)

Reacting to the news of potential interest from the Turkish Super Lig, plenty of fans gave their thoughts on the winger’s future at Villa Park and it seems most are in favour of his departure, even if they stay up. This is likely due to his fairly poor goal contribution this term…

> just get rid of him. If he is talking about going if relegated when he should be actually putting a shift in for once to keep us up. Inconsistent and over rated
