**Barcelona narrowly edged past Slavia Prague in the Champions League last night, beating the Czech outfit 2-1 away from home.**

Lionel Messi’s third-minute opener may have had most anticipating a rout from the Catalans, however, the hosts battled well throughout and hit back through left-back Jan Boril five minutes after the break.

An unfortunate own goal from striker Peter Olayinka saw Barca regain their lead just seven minutes later, with Ernesto Valverde’s side obtaining all three points come full time.

Barcelona were extremely lucky to come away with a win, though, with their opponents registering [24 shots on goal](https://www.google.com/search?q=barca+fc&oq=barca+&aqs=chrome.0.69i59l2j69i57j69i60l3.4643j1j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#sie=m;/g/11fn2byn53;2;/m/0c1q0;ms;fp;1;;) throughout the 90 minutes – [nine](https://www.google.com/search?q=barca+fc&oq=barca+&aqs=chrome.0.69i59l2j69i57j69i60l3.4643j1j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#sie=m;/g/11fn2byn53;2;/m/0c1q0;ms;fp;1;;) of which were on target.
