# Barcelona: Fans react to Frenkie de Jong’s holiday photo

**Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong has been a revelation since joining the club from Ajax in the summer.**

\[freshpress-poll id=”255364″\]

Deemed as one of the [best midfielders in world football](https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=2618590.html), the Dutchman has been awarded with an overall rating of 7.23/10 for his performances in a Barcelona shirt this season (via [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/279423/History/Frenkie-de-Jong)).

De Jong’s elite passing ability is one of the strongest aspects to his game, proven by the fact that this season he has acquired a pass completion rate of 92.5% – one of the highest of any player in La Liga this term (via [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/279423/History/Frenkie-de-Jong)).

The 22-year-old has registered a goal and an assist so far this term, per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/frenkie-de-jong/profil/spieler/326330), and has been a regular starter in Ernesto Valverde’s starting XI, starting eight of Barca’s nine league fixtures this term.

With Barcelona’s El Clasico match-up against Real Madrid postponed over the weekend, the players were given time off, with De Jong opting to unwind with his girlfriend in a sensational penthouse apartment overlooking the beach.
