Besiktas have had a loan approach for Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa dismissed by the Reds. The Turkish Super Lig Club are on the market for a new winger before Friday’s transfer deadline and also enquired about Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard last week.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Besiktas have now approached Liverpool for a loan deal for Chiesa, but says the Reds are unwilling to consider a loan offer for the 27-year-old.
“I can also reveal to you that Besiktas also called for Federico Chiesa,” Romano said.
“Besiktas in the last 24, 48 hours tried to call for Federico Chiesa to understand the situation at Liverpool.”
“What I can tell you is that Liverpool are not letting Federico go on loan. At the moment, negotiations are not advanced,” he added.
Chiesa has endured a difficult spell with Liverpool after joining from Juventus in 2024. Injuries derailed his first season at the club, limiting him to six Premier League appearances in 2024/25.
This season has started on a brighter note, as he’s appeared as a substitute in all three matches for the Reds, scoring the go-ahead goal against Bournemouth on opening day.
Besiktas approach Liverpool for Chiesa

Speculation about Chiesa’s future was ignited when the player was left out of Liverpool’s Champions League squad. Arne Slot last week listed his squad for the competition and opted to list youngster Rio Ngumoha instead of Chiesa.
The defending Premier League champions completed a historic transfer window this summer, capped off by a British record £130m signing of Alexander Isak on Deadline Day. That took their total spend towards the £450 million mark, leaving question marks about the futures of several fringe players.
The Reds were able to offload quite a bit of players including Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Harvey Elliot and Jarell Quansah but could sanction more sales to balance the books.
