# ‘Bet he’s stalking Klopp’ – Liverpool fans on Twitter slate Jose Mourinho after last night’s comments

**Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have hit out at Jose Mourinho after the strange comments (you can read them here via the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jose-mourinhos-makes-bizarre-mention-14408393)) he made yesterday on BT Sport after United’s 2-1 home loss to Sevilla. The Portuguese tactician said that whilst Liverpool have the Champions League, United have the FA Cup still to fight for, despite not being asked about the club’s Merseyside rivals.**

Manchester United fans will all be feeling vulnerable this morning after being dumped out of the Champions League in the first knockout round by the lesser-fancied, Sevilla. After a 0-0 draw away at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, the tie was tipped in the Red Devils’ favour going into the home-leg all square, although two goals from Wissam Ben Yedder in the second half won the game, and the tie, for the Spaniards after Romelu Lukaku grabbed a late consolation.

The Kopites propping up our bar were both baffled and bemused by the comments made by Jose Mourinho, whose decision to take a swipe at Liverpool after such a crushing defeat for United fans has confused many. Despite this, United are still fighting in two competitions as they welcome Brighton to Old Trafford in the FA Cup on Saturday as well as still aiming to nail down second in the Premier League.
