# ‘Better than Bale’, ‘Going to get £30m’ – Newcastle United fans delighted for fan favourite on Twitter

**The Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern were absolutely buzzing for Aleksandar Mitrovic last night.**

Indeed, the Toon star helped Serbia through to the World Cup finals with the assist in a 1-0 win over Georgia and will more than likely spearhead their campaign in Russia next summer.

While the 23-year-old has had to wait for his chance at club level, he’s certainly a popular figure amongst our Geordie contingent, so the fact he’ll likely fulfil what must have always been a dream has delighted the punters propping up our bar.

Even the biggest players in the world are far from guaranteed a place at the biggest competition in world football, so the fact that Mitrovic will be there is a reason to smile on Tyneside.

With that in mind, here’s a look at how Newcastle United fans on Twitter reacted to Serbia’s qualification for the World Cup last night.
