# Big deal hinted at in Tottenham Hotspur transfer report as club closely follow star

**While he wasn’t at his best last night, the Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern will never not back Dele Alli.**

It’s been a frustrating season for the 21-year-old so far, though few would doubt the England star’s quality, which is why reports emanating out of Spain have gone down so poorly.

According to *[SPORT](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/barca-sigue-muy-cerca-delle-alli-6340314),* Barcelona are keen on signing the former MK Dons youngster, as a potential alternative for Philippe Coutinho. Indeed, the *Blaugrana* tried and failed to sign the Liverpool ace over the course of the summer and are now said to have turned their attentions to Alli.

He’s [believed](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/barca-sigue-muy-cerca-delle-alli-6340314) to have been closely followed by Barca’s general manager, Pep Segura, with a belief [reportedly](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/barca-sigue-muy-cerca-delle-alli-6340314) abound the Camp Nou that Alli could seriously strengthen the club’s midfield. While a new contract with Spurs is [thought](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/barca-sigue-muy-cerca-delle-alli-6340314) to be on the way, the report [claims](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/barca-sigue-muy-cerca-delle-alli-6340314) the midfielder could cost €150m, a realistic figure to sped for a club like Barcelona.

**Landlord’s Verdict:**

It’s going to be difficult to fend off any interest from Spain in Alli over the next few years. Hopefully for Tottenham, Alli will sign a new contract to keep him in north London for another year or two, though staying for the long-term may not be a realistic notion.

***Thoughts?***
