Birmingham City: Fans furious after home defeat to Nottingham Forest

Birmingham City: Fans furious after home defeat to Nottingham Forest -Birmingham City News

Many Birmingham City fans were left fuming after their side were battered 3-0 at St Andrews by early-season strugglers Nottingham Forest yesterday.

Despite the home side striking the post twice and having Lukas Jutkiewicz denied by a brilliant Brice Samba save early on, Forest looked set to take all three points from the moment Lewis Grabban struck the ball into the top corner after only 11 minutes.

Ryan Yates and Djed Spence pilled more misery onto Lee Bowyer and Birmingham, who are currently experiencing their longest winless run since he was appointed as Head Coach in March.

The Blues haven’t won since they defeated Derby County 2-0 in September and have lost four of their previous five games including thrashings by Fulham, Peterborough and now Forest.

Bowyer’s side were poor defensively and made numerous errors against Steve Cooper’s side, and they now sit only four points clear of the relegation zone in the Championship.

Should Birmingham City sack Lee Bowyer?

Birmingham fans vent their fury

These Birmingham supporters took to the club’s official Twitter full-time post to vent their fury at the result, with some calls for Bowyer to be sacked after another defeat on his watch.

“Spineless performance. Absolutely no spirit, we looked shattered and confused from 20 minutes onwards. Defence needs a proper revamp, the amount of times we went back to the keeper was a joke”

“Let’s go back to 1875 and start again. We can’t really blame Bowyer. several managers have come in to try and get the best out of our attack and defence without it changing too much. We need heavy investment in defence and Roberts and Dean have had their chances.”

“Change the formation and drop those muppets at CB. Needs to stop having Aneke, Deeney and Juke all on at the same time and in a narrow formation. Karanka got slaughtered for that tactic last season”
