# Sheffield United: Blades have yet to make another bid for Aaron Ramsdale

**Last week Sheffield United [made](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12043902/aaron-ramsdale-bournemouth-reject-12m-bid-from-sheffield-united-for-goalkeeper) an offer of around £12m for Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale which was rejected, and there has been a new update on their pursuit of the player.**

According to [The Daily Echo](https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/18648342.no-second-sheffield-united-bid-aaron-ramsdale-despite-sell-on-clause/), the Blades are yet to submit a second bid for the player as they look to bring him back to Bramall Lane.

When Sheffield United sold him to Bournemouth in 2017, they inserted a sell-on clause into their sale of Ramsdale to the Cherries. Therefore, if they were to bid for him, it would be a cheaper deal than other interested parties would have to complete if they want the ‘keeper.

At [22,](https://www.premierleague.com/players/13703/Aaron-Ramsdale/stats) Ramsdale is still very young for a goalkeeper and it will be a tough ask to replace Dean Henderson, who had the [joint-third](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/clean_sheet) most clean sheets in the Premier League last season, picking up 13 in 36 appearances and only conceding 33 goals, per[Transfermarkt.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dean-henderson/profil/spieler/258919)

However, the Bournemouth goalkeeper still had a good season, making 129 saves, saving one penalty, and keeping five clean sheets, per [Premier League.](https://www.premierleague.com/players/13703/Aaron-Ramsdale/stats)

These figures suggest that Ramsdale would a very good option for Sheffield United, and these performances clearly did not go unnoticed at the Vitality Stadium, as he was voted the Cherries’ [Player of the Year.](https://www.afcb.co.uk/news/club-news/ramsdale-your-player-of-the-year/)

The 22-year-old has definitely shown that he has the potential to be a solid Premier League goalkeeper, and if the Blades cannot get Henderson back from Manchester United, then submitting another bid for the Bournemouth ‘keeper seems like a no-brainer.
