# Brazilian craves ‘dream’ Manchester City switch

![fernandinho.jpg](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/fernandinho.jpg)News has reached us in the Football Transfer Tavern today that Manchester City have been offered encouragement in their bid to bring Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho to the club this summer.

[The Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/399879/Fernandinho-asks-for-buyout-clause-to-be-lowered-to-facilitate-Manchester-City-talks?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+daily-express-football-news+%28Daily+Express+%3A%3A+Football+Feed%29) suggests that the Shakhtar Donetsk man wants to be part of Manuel Pellegrini’s revolution at City as he looks to test his undoubted ability at a higher level.

The playmaker has a release fee in his current contract of £42.5 million but City are eager to reduce the up front cost as they look to comply with the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules. The 28-year-old, who had been with the Ukrainian club since 2005, has now requested that his club reduce the fee so that he could earn a move to England in the near future.

He said: “The day I signed, the club’s director guaranteed me that was normal with his players and that in a transfer, we could negotiate and reach an agreement on the price.

“I trusted them, and I didn’t think about the consequences it would bring me in the future

“My dream is being threatened because of the high valuation.”
