Free scoring Brentford duo tipped for “likely” moves away from club

Brentford captain Christian Norgaard has tipped his high flying teammates Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa to leave the club this summer. Speaking to Sky Sports, Norgaard admits his teammates will be in high demand when the transfer window opens, and that both players are well deserving of any interest received.
He mentioned that while Mbeumo is the more “likely” of the duo to leave, Wissa could also be set for a “dream” move if the circumstances are right.
“I think Bryan is likely to go,” he said.
“I don’t know about Wissa yet. Everyone hopes that he might stay. Either way, I’m happy for the season and am happy for both of them. They deserve it so much.”
The duo have been in sensational form for the Bees this season, both scoring 18 goals in the Premier League. They have combined for 45 goal contributions between the two of them, form which has seen them both linked to big money moves away.
Brentford strike duo could depart
This form has perhaps made supporters forget about former bagsman Ivan Toney, who scored 20 Premier League goals during the 2022-2023 season before being sold to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal for £40m last summer.
Norgaard believes the club has proved they can cope with the loss of forward players, given their track record of excellent recruitment.
“I’m pretty calm about what will happen with Bryan and Wissa,” said Norgaard. “A lot of questions are asked about them and you can almost feel the worries around the players, when you talk about them maybe leaving us.”
“I was one [of them] when we were losing Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma, Ivan Toney. So it continues.”
“But the club has already brought in Igor Thiago, who is another fantastic character and he will also take the league by storm at some point.”
“When that is, I don’t know but I’m sure he will be ready if Wissa gets his dream move, or Bryan leaves and there will be a change of the offensive players. I think the club is so talented in recruiting and always being two or three steps ahead.”
The skipper’s sentiments support similar comments made by his manager Thomas Frank, who admitted that “selling club” Brentford would be open to selling star players for the right price.
Mbeumo is said to be high on the list of Man United while Wissa was the subject of a bid from Nottingham Forest as recently at January. Brentford also possess a third double digit scorer in Kevin Schade, whose 10 league goals has seen him attract interest from Borussia Dortmund.
