# Bristol City lining up ambitious swoop for influential Championship star

![lansburymnahaa](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/lansburymnahaa-500x325.jpg)The Bristol City fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports that the club are interested in signing a former Arsenal youngster.

[HITC is reporting that the Championship club](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/05/03/gb-bristol-city-line-up-henri-lansbury-bid/) are set for a spending spree this summer and that Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury is a top target.

City manager Lee Johnson looks [set to be handed a serious amount of](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/05/03/gb-bristol-city-line-up-henri-lansbury-bid/)money this as the club are hoping to mount a serious challenge to reach the Premier League next season.

Lansbury has just 12 months left on his current deal at the Citu Ground, and [Lee Johnson is confident he can persuade him](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/05/03/gb-bristol-city-line-up-henri-lansbury-bid/) to sign for the club should the two sides agree a fee.

The Bristol City fans in The Tavern are delighted to be linked with a player of Lansbury’s quality, and feel it would be a signal of intent should he make the move to Ashton Gate this summer.

Our landlord here in the Tavern admits he’d be surprised to see Lansbury move to a struggling side like Bristol City, and would imagine he’d make the move to the Premier League in the summer.

**Bristol City fans….. This is surely good news? Is Lansbury a player you’d want? Let us know below!\**
