Jeff Hendrick is no longer a Burnley player, having officially left the club as of today following the expiry of his contract at Turf Moor.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder turned down the offer of a new deal with the Clarets and has brought an end to his four-year spell in Lancashire, having scored 10 goals in 139 Burnley appearances and helped them to a seventh-place finish in 2018.
The 28-year-old took to Instagram (via @jeff13hendrick) to salute his former team-mates and the Turf Moor faithful as he now looks towards the next chapter of his career.

4 years done at Burnley. I’ve said my goodbyes to the players and staff already but just a thank you to the fans. It’s been a good few years with some memorable results. Finishing 7th with a little club like Burnley as they say was something else. The crowd noise don’t go unnoticed and it really helps push the lads on so keep it up. You have a great group of lads representing your club so keep being their 12th man and help them in the last few games and next year. I can’t speak highly enough of the lads there, they deserve nothing but praise for their efforts week in week out. Cheers. Goodbye and thanks again
Hendrick departs Burnley with a glowing reputation among many Clarets supporters, plenty of whom took the time to reply to his Instagram post to show their appreciation for his efforts at the club and wish him luck with whatever comes next in his career.
The Irishman had been a consistent presence in the Burnley line-up under Sean Dyche, starting 107 Premier League games for the club and making at least 22 starts in each of his top-flight campaigns at Turf Moor (as per WhoScored).
Will Jeff Hendrick be missed at Burnley?
He may not have been a highly potent scorer in his time in Lancashire but he popped up with a couple of memorable strikes for Burnley, including a stunning 25-yard volley against Bournemouth in 2016 and a similarly magnificent goal in a 2-2 draw at Chelsea last season.
With Dyche’s squad now down to just 20 senior players, the loss of a consistent first team presence like Hendrick is bound to be missed at Turf Moor, and it is little wonder that so many Burnley fans were gushing in their praise of him when replying to him on Instagram.
