# Wolves: Carlos Alcaraz approach made

**[Wolves](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/) have reportedly made an approach for Racing Club midfielder Carlos Alcaraz.**

### The Lowdown: Alcaraz profiled

The 19-year-old can play as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder or right winger. \[[Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/carlos-alcaraz/profil/spieler/748319)\]

He has been described as an [‘advanced playmaker’](https://twitter.com/FTalentScout/status/1528850610619092992) by talent scout Jacek Kulig and has made [83](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/carlos-alcaraz/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/748319) senior appearances for his current employers.

The Argentine has contributed to [18](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/carlos-alcaraz/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/748319) goals during that time, and it looks as if a move to the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) could be on the cards in 2023.

### The Latest: Wolves linked with Alcaraz

[Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/wolves-asked-information-midfielder-price-currently-exceeds-e12m/) relayed an update from [Gazzetta dello Sport](https://www.gazzetta.it/?refresh_ce) regarding Alcaraz.

They claimed that Inter Milan are eyeing the midfielder, before adding that Wolves and FC Porto have ‘recently’ both ‘asked for information’ about the 19-year-old.

### The Verdict: One to watch?

Wolves’ new manager Julen Lopetegui is [already working](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/wolves-julen-lopetegui-already-working-on-january-transfer-plans/) on January transfers at Molineux, and it looks as if Alcaraz could be on his list of possible additions.

The youngster already has plenty of first-team experience for his age and could well be a star in the making, with Kulig describing him as [‘one of the biggest talents in Argentina’](https://twitter.com/FTalentScout/status/1528866336423948288).

Therefore, a winter swoop could be a shrewd move by Wolves chiefs, who may need to pip the likes of Inter Milan and Porto to the player’s services.
