# Celtic: Chris Sutton slams supporters for unveiling anti-Neil Lennon banner

**Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton fumed at the Bhoys supporters who were behind the banner and statement about manager Neil Lennon.**

### Sutton not impressed

The [North Curve Celtic](https://twitter.com/NCCeltic/status/1331526569949585408) published a lengthy description on Twitter of their views on the Irish tactician, along with a message that stated: “Save the 10 – time to go Neil.”

Celtic find themselves [11](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/scottish-premiership/table) points behind arch-rivals Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table and are [yet to pick up a win](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54753455) in Europe this season, with their reverse fixture against Sparta Prague scheduled later today.

This enraged Sutton, who posted on his [Twitter](https://twitter.com/chris_sutton73/status/1331664792877150210) exactly what he thought of those responsible.

“Some of the Green Brigade and Celtic fans who thinks that is acceptable to treat a club legend and brilliant servant like Neil Lennon with this amount of disrespect need to have a good look at themselves.”

### Transfer Tavern Verdict

With an unprecedented 10-in-a-row hanging in the balance, a segment of the Parkhead faithful have made their feelings clear. But as Lennon has won [four](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neil-lennon/profil/trainer/6266) league titles as manager and [five](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neil-lennon/profil/spieler/9498) as a player, Sutton’s frustrations are completely justified.

Lennon is a club legend and should be treated like one. On the other hand, the supporters have every right to be frustrated with recent results, having [dropped more points](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54941166) last weekend against Hibernian.

Time will tell what chief executive Peter Lawwell decides to do. Whatever his judgment, it could make or break Celtic’s season.
