# Celtic: Fans react as Claudio Bravo is linked to the club

**A lot of Celtic fans are not happy with the [latest transfer news](https://twitter.com/celticbible/status/1267196308969922563?s=20) suggesting that the Hoops will pursue a deal for Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo if they cannot bring back Fraser Forster.**

According to[The Times.cl](https://thetimes.cl/deportes/claudio-bravo-aparece-en-carpeta-del-celtic-escoces-para-la-temporada-2020-2021.shtml), the Chilean will be available for around £1.2 million, whilst the Hoops are also interested in Joe Hart and Ben Foster.

The Celts fan base are not happy with the transfer rumour, and it is understandable to see why, as the City goalkeeper is now [37 years-old](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/claudio-bravo/erfolge/spieler/40423) and seen as cover at the Premier League side. In England’s top flight, he has only played four times this campaign, conceding seven goals, per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/claudio-bravo/profil/spieler/40423).

It does seem like a weird deal to pursue, with one fan highlighting how ‘he’s a glorified Scott Bain’, who has been the [substitute goalkeeper](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scott-bain/profil/spieler/85627) at Celtic this season. This is proven by his lack of appearances this year.

\[freshpress-quiz id=”292669″\]

The former [Champions League winner](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/claudio-bravo/erfolge/spieler/40423) with FC Barcelona has also been prone to make [errors](https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/claudio-bravo-error-mistake-pep-guardiola-goal-goalkeeper-latest-1353190) in the past and this is another reason as to why fans do not want him at the club.

To be linked to permanently signing Forster, who has kept 14 clean sheets in 28 SPFL appearances, per [Transfermarkt,](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fraser-forster/profil/spieler/52570) and then to Bravo who is a bench warmer and past his best, it is easy to see why fans feel the Chilean would be a downgrade if they were sign him.

Here is what some said following the news, with one describing him as ‘shocking’:

> 37 year old and on 80k a week.\
> Wouldn’t be worth more than 20k a week to us and only for one year, if that! Barely kicked a ball since ederson came in.\
> No thank you, fantasy world anyway.

> Celtic shouldn’t be looking at keepers that age!!…no disrespect to Bravo but he’s not one for the future 😏… bottom line Celtic even during these difficult times go get Forster- spend the coin!!!🍀
