# Celtic: Club should entertain Southampton interest in Olivier Ntcham

**The latest reports suggest that Olivier Ntcham has some admirers in the Premier League, and it looks like Celtic might have to accept losing him in the summer.**

The 24 year-old has made 123 appearances for the Hoops since moving from Manchester City, scoring 23 goals and picking up eleven assists, per [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-ntcham/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/224088). He has made 38 appearances in all competitions this season, but 13 of these have been as a substitute. This is probably due to the fact that he has come out in public stating that he wanted to move to a European club last summer, per [The Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/olivier-ntcham-admits-celtic-exit-17480567).

According to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-southampton-set-sights-on-signing-4-5m-celtic-player/), Premier League side Southampton are very interested in the midfielder, and see him as a possible replacement for Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.

With Ntcham seemingly looking like he is not happy in Scotland, the club should not look to keep him. No matter the potential of the former [French U21](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/olivier-ntcham/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/224088) ace, he could become a bad apple in the squad. This could have a negative impact on the harmony amongst the group and cause difficulties that are not needed as Celtic try to make history and win ten titles in a row next season. This has never been done in Scottish football before and they will want no distractions as they bid to make SPFL history, via [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/537546/celtic-vs-rangers-who-has-won-more-scottish-premiership-titles/).

The fact that he seems to be in and out of the starting eleven highlights that he is not a crucial player anymore, and the Hoops will be able to survive without him. In fact, they will arguably be better off without him as it would leave them with a squad of players who all want to be at the club and who are pulling in the same direction for manager Neil Lennon.

***Celtic fans, what do you think of Ntcham’s performances so far this campaign?***
